Transcription: The Internet is a worldwide computer network which consists of collections of smaller computer networks. It is essentially a telephone system for computers. In fact, it is the telephone system that connects them all together. The Internet uses specific rules called a protocol that allows the computer networks to talk to each other. This protocol is called TCP IP. Each computer on the Internet has an Internet address. This address can be of two types, an IP address consisting of four groups of numbers or a domain name consisting of a group of words. Domain names are much easier to remember.
